AU trying to escape the dead zone

It's called the red zone, where an offense is supposed to design special plays and step up to the challenge of scoring once it moves inside an opponent's 20-yard line.

But it's resembled more of a dead zone for Auburn's offense, which seems to self-destruct every time it moves within scoring range.

AU's offense has scored points on just 20-of-35 (57%) of its trips into the red zone this season. That pitiful number ranks dead last in the NCAA Bowl Subdivision rankings. That's right. Auburn is No. 119.
