Collison Pac 10 POW

Bruin senior guard Darren Collison has been named Pac 10 player of the week after leading the Bruins to a 2-0 start and helping them advance to New York to play in the semi final game against Michigan this Thursday night. Collison was also Los Angeles Regional MVP for the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament.

Collison averaged 17.5 points per game and was very clutch during crunch time against Miami of Ohio almost willing the Bruins to win.

"To tell you the truth this game (Miami of Ohio) felt like a NCAA tournament game," Collison said. "Just the atmosphere, the crowd was in it and we played a very good team. Make no mistake about that."

There is no question that the Bruins have five highly talented freshmen, but they are just that, freshmen and there is going to be a learning curve for them, but until then the Bruins are going to have to be carried by the likes of senior.

Miami of Ohio was an outstanding test in the early going for the Bruins and they earned their lessons well last Thursday Night when they played a very deliberate and patient team.
