Wood is Ready for Red River Rivalry

The class of 2010 seems to be stacked full of talented quarterbacks but to date none has received more attention from Oklahoma than Houston Second Baptist pro-style quarterback Connor Wood. The 6-foot-4, 201-pound signal caller has been invited to this weekend's top five tilt between the Longhorns and Sooners.

It's clear the chance to see Oklahoma and Texas offenses, and their star quarterbacks, is a big emphasis of the game for Wood.

"It definitely will be a great thing to experience and to just kind of judge the way they use their quarterbacks, (Texas) tends to run Colt McCoy more than Sam Bradford and with Oklahoma you see the kind of pro-style with Sam," Wood said. "It will be great just to see how the coaches use them against another great program. Just getting an idea of how they handle things offensively against another solid group.

"Each series you are watching two teams you are interested in."

Wood will be traveling up with one his parents to the game, but isn't quite sure whether it will be his mom or his dad that will be attending the game. Of course the game will come after his team attempts to further their undefeated record in district.
