UGA pulls trigger and offers 2009 DL

The University of Georgia is still searching for another top defensive lineman in their 2009 class and they have made one of the most athletic prospects at his position a target. Derrick Lott was on campus last weekend for a visit and Georgia has been recruiting him for over a year.

After watching Woodstock defeat North Cobb 28-14 Friday night, Derrick Lott informed us that he was officially offered a scholarship by the University of Georgia late Thursday night.

Coach Stacy Searels recruits North Cobb for the Dawgs and he made his weekly call to the 6-foot-5, 270 pound lineman on Thursday night. UGA's interior defensive line coach Rodney Garner was right by the phone, so he got on the line and offered Lott a scholarship.

Lott knew Georgia liked him as a player, but they were waiting for him to get his scores back on the first ACT. He got the scores back this week and he received big news from the Dawgs.

We caught up with Lott for an exclusive video interview with the new Bulldog target after his loss and you can see what he says about the offer and more here.
