Ohio star to visit MSU

One of the top uncommitted prospects in Ohio for the class of 2009 is Denicos Allen of Hamilton High School. Spartanmag.com caught up with the hard-hitting prospect last night and got the latest details on his recruitment and when could make his decision.

Allen is rated a 3-star recruit and the #34 outside linebacker in the nation for the class. He is also rated the #33 player in Ohio. Allen has over 20 scholarship offers at his disposal and is in the process of narrowing things down. Spartanmag.com asked him about what teams he is focused on from a recruiting standpoint?

"Michigan State and Wisconsin are the two teams I am looking at. I will probably decide in the next few weeks. I will be at Michigan State this weekend and then I will go to Wisconsin the next weekend. My visit to Michigan State is just to see the game, my visit to Wisconsin will be an official visit."

What is it about those two schools that standout to you?

"Those two schools have been showing me the most attention. The coaches at both schools are good people and I have good relationships with them. I just spoke with Coach Dantonio earlier today and I spoke with Coach Bilema last week."

Allen indicted that his primary recruiter for Michigan State is Defensive backs coach Harlon Barnett. It is possible that Barnett could end up being Allen's position coach if he selects the Spartans."

"Michigan State has told me they wanted me for a while, but they did not have spot for me because they were full at linebacker. Coach Barnett came and watched me play last week. They said I could play safety and if I ended up at linebacker that would be ok."

It is very possible that the Spartans project Allen as a big hitting strong safety. The fact that he has been clocked as fast a 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash indicates he has the speed to cover a lot ground.

Allen is having a strong season for Hamilton High School. The team is currently 5-1 and rated 4th in he Cincinnati/Dayton Area. Jim Place coaches Hamilton High School. Spartan fans may remember Place, as he was the Coach at Dayton Julienne-Chaminade when Javon Ringer was being recruited.

This weekend Allen and his team will play {Princeton High School, which ironically is the alma mater of Coach Barnett. You can be sure that fact
