Kicker commits to FIU

Coach Mario Cristobal continues to add talent to the FIU roster. The latest addition is Jack Griffin from St. John Neumann High School who is one of the top kickers in the nation.

"I committed on Labor Day when I was on an unofficial visit to FIU," said the 6 foot 1, 185-pound Griffin. "I talked it over with my dad on the way over. When I got there it felt great."

When are you going to take your official visit?

"I am taking my official visit this weekend."

What did you like about FIU?

"Football wise they have a new facility; everything is new. I wanted the chance to be part of an up and coming program and to build a new tradition. At other schools that have been around for 110 years you get lost in their tradition."

With regards to the campus and the coaches what did you like?

"Coach Cristobal, Coach Wright and Coach Legg are 3 great guys. When I was there I took a tour around campus. The campus is great it is only 90 minutes from my house."

Did you hear from any other schools?

"I went to Michigan's camp, but they got a commitment from Anthony Fera. Syracuse and Illinois also contacted me."

Griffin is the 13th ranked kicker in the nation on the rankings.
