Collins unable to practice

On Thursday evening, Kansas took the court for the first time as the defending National Champs. However, the first practice of the year probably didn't turnout like Bill Self envisioned when his Jayhawks defeated the Memphis Tigers in the title game. Marcus and Markieff Morris didn't participate on Thursday and the same can be said for Sherron Collins. Self also said the final 30 minutes of practice was used for extra condition. Self spoke to the media shortly after practice and Jayhawk Slant was on hand.

Most, if not all of the players, eventually made their way to the locker-room shortly after practice looking like they had attended boot camp. Slow, gradual steps were taken as each player inched closer to the door.
