LaAdrian Waddle focusing in on two
For massive offensive lineman LaAdrian Waddle, the recruiting process is finally beginning to slow down a little bit. After a stellar spring that saw the Houston native pick up six written offers, everything is beginning to return to a less hectic pace.
"Everything's been alright as far as recruiting goes," he said. "It's still the same schools coming after me real hard. Mainly Tech, Houston, SMU, Ole Miss, Rice, and Tulane."
And for Waddle, two teams have emerged as the favorites for his commitment.
"I'd say right now it's mainly Houston and Tech," he explained. "There are things I like about both of them, so we'll just have to see."
The athletic big man, who's already had the chance to visit Houston's campus in person, says he's looking forward to having something to compare the Cougars' digs to.
"I think I'm going to be going to the Tech-Texas game for my official visit there," he explained. "I've been talking to Coach (Matt) Moore and trying to get that set up."
Speaking of Moore, Waddle says Tech's offensive line coach is one of the reasons he's interested in Tech.
"He's real cool," he said of Moore. "He's one of my favorite coaches. He's just real chill and we talk quite a bit."
In the end, Waddle explained that both Tech and Houston have their pros and cons, and it will simply boil down to a function of which school's pros out weigh the cons.
Texas Tech- "I like that they're in the Big 12. They're competing for a title every year and I really like that. That's good competition right there."
Houston- "They're close to home, and my parents like that. But at the same time, they think Tech's close enough too."
