Rising Stars Preview
With rising stars on the horizon, USC will begin to put the finishing touches on class of 2009.
But rising stars are no longer just rising seniors. Several of the nation's best juniors will also take part in what has become arguably college football's most prestigious camp.
USC's Rising Stars Camp is a two day event, which hosts hundreds of the country's best high school football recruits. This year, the event is expected to welcome more than two dozen of the nation's top 250 - including the nation's No. 1 quarterback, No. 2 wide receiver, No. 1 tight end, No. 1 defensive end and No. 1 athlete.
Trojans committed prospects will account for many of the camp's highest rated prospects. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star quarterback, Matt Barkley, sits at the top of that list. Rated as the nation's top player in the 2009 class, Barkley should be completing his passes to a very talented group of wide receivers.
