Negedu Talks Vols, Commitment

And the hits keep on coming for Bruce Pearl and the Tennessee Vols. On Tuesday the mystery of where the nation's top unsigned player would land was solved when Emmanuel Negedu ended his recruitment by making a public commitment to Tennessee. It's a commitment that adds even more luster to what was already one of the nation's top 2008 classes.

Negedu (6-foot-8, 225 pounds) signed with Arizona in November, but after a topsy-turvy year that saw Lute Olsen take a leave of absence, the nation's No. 40 overall ranked player had second thoughts and asked for a release from the Wildcats this spring.

Once that release was granted Tennessee became an immediate player in the race to land him and today that race came to a successful conclusion for the Vols.
