Lineman Clark visits Iowa State
Iowa State finished the May evaluation period with a spate of new scholarship offers going out, including one to Marion (Iowa) offensive lineman Drew Clark. It was last Monday that Clark learned over the telephone that he would be receiving an ISU offer. It came in the mail as promised on Friday and he followed that up with an unofficial visit to Ames yesterday.
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Clark would appear to be a very good fit for Iowa State. He intends to major in engineering, one of ISU's academic strengths, and the Cyclones are setting the pace on his recruitment with the first and only major offer he's received. He re-capped his visit to Iowa State in a Monday night conversation with CycloneReport.com.
"I was just at Kansas for one day on camp on Saturday and then we visited Iowa State, I just got home a little while ago," Clark said. "I talked to the coaches a lot more on my visit to ISU, got to know them a little bit more. We toured the campus and I talked to the engineering advisors."
Clark won't be at home for a long as he heads east for one day at the Purdue camp on Wednesday. Next Thursday, he plans to spend a day in camp with Iowa. The four schools mentioned in this update - Iowa State, Kansas, Purdue and Iowa - represent the only four that Clark is seriously involved with at this time, he said.
