Negedu Talks Vols, Timetable

Nothing stirs up a feeding frenzy in the world of basketball recruiting like a big-time prospect becoming available after or during the late signing period. That was proven true again this week when Emmanuel Negedu,'s No. 40 overall player in the Class of 2008, was granted a release from Arizona, a move that set off a heated recruiting battle.

This is pertinent for Tennessee because after being given his release Negedu (6-foot-6, 225 pounds) announced that the Vols are one of the four programs he's now giving consideration too.

Tennessee is joined in that final four by Indiana, Memphis and Georgia Tech.

We caught up with Negedu--who is graduating from Brewster Academy in New Hampshire this week--after what was a hectic Tuesday for the prospect, to get his thoughts on his finalists, along with the developments of the last few days. rates Negedu as a four-star prospect, the No. 40 overall player in the nation and the No. 13 power forward in the nation.
