One of Georgia's best visits Athens

One of the top athletes in the Peach State in 2009 is without a doubt Branden Smith. Smith is an electric player that makes plays on both sides of the ball. This star out of Atlanta (GA) Booker T. Washington was in Athens this past weekend for G-Day.

"I went over to Georgia on Saturday and I had a real good visit," said Smith. "I got to see the spring game, I talked to some of the coaches, and I saw some of the facilities."

This was Smith's second visit to the classic city and he received a lot of attention from the Bulldog coaching staff.

"All the coaches are great at Georgia and they make you feel comfortable. I got to talk with Coach Mark Richt, Coach [Willie] Martinez (DB Coach), Coach [Rodney] Garner (Smith's Recruiting Coach), and Coach [John] Eason (WR Coach) while I was there."

"They all let me know that they liked me a lot and that they would love to have me at Georgia. We just talked about different things and it was cool."

If Smith chose UGA as his future home, then Coach Martinez would likely be his position coach. He likes what he sees in Willie Martinez.

"Georgia offered me as an athlete, but I think they want me to play corner," explained Smith. "Coach Martinez told me that he could really use me and that he really likes my skills."
