Hopkins is possibly the nation's best kicker
One of the more intriguing questions that has been lingering around Oklahoma's class of 2008 is whether or not they'll be pursuing any time of kicker or punter in the class. Two straight years of signing kickers in Jimmy Stevens (2007) and Tress Way (2008) would seem to indicate there would be no specialist as a member of the class of 2009. Well in actuality it seems that it might just take one of extreme talent to warrant a scholarship.
One such player seems to have emerged from Houston Clear Lake kicker Dustin Hopkins whose kicking prowess is well known around the area and has already helped him garner offers from Baylor and Florida State. In fact Hopkins' kicking power was so that his coaches were left disappointed when he didn't put kickoffs out of the end zone.
"I've talked to Kevin Wilson and he has seen my tape. He didn't really talk about an offer he just saying he looks forward to recruiting me. I haven't heard back from them since he said he was going to show Bob Stoops the film," he said. "I think that was last week."
