Kansas ready for Portland State

The regular season has ended, and the moment of truth has finally arrived. The Kansas Jayhawks (31-3, 13-3) now have the chance to show the country, and themselves, how good they really are. A No. 1 seed has never lost to a No. 16, and Kansas hopes to keep it that way when they take on Portland State (23-9, 14-2) Thursday morning in Omaha, Neb. Russell Robinson and the rest of the KU seniors are hoping to go out on top in their final run in a KU uniform.

Bill Self and KU have had their share of disappointments in the NCAA tournament, but were one game away from a Final Four birth last season. Getting over that hump is the ultimate goal in 2008. That goal is now within arms-length.
