Iowa State very high on Texas LB
The scholarship offers came early and often for South Garland (Texas) linebacker Austin Moss. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound prospect has been receiving offers since early in his junior season and those numbers have continued to climb since national signing day.
"I have seven offers so far: Wisconsin, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Virginia, Cincinnati and Louisville," said Moss. "They started coming over time. Wisconsin offered me and pretty soon after that Kansas State did. When football season started Louisville and Iowa State did. Then, the day of signing day, Virginia offered me and the next day Cincinnati offered me."
Moss is also hearing from several more programs who could be on the verge of offering. He has taken Junior Day visits to Texas A&M, Texas and Oklahoma and is looking at possibly taking one to Texas Tech in the near future. He uses the events to get a better feel for the coaching staffs - a factor he says will be key when he makes his decision.
"I plan on taking my time. Not a long time, but I'd like to have my choice made by the end of the spring or some time during the summer," Moss said. "I'm pretty open-minded about them all. There aren't really any top ones until I can give the coaches a call and get to know them."
