KU ends 2007 with win

With a new year just days away, No. 3 Kansas (13-0, 0-0) hoped to close out 2007 on a high note, and with a perfect record. Both were accomplished Saturday night as the Jayhawks, led by Darnell Jackson's 20 points and 5 rebounds, defeated Yale (3-7, 0-0) 86-53. KU led the attack with its usual lock-down defense, forcing the Bulldogs into 26 turnovers. Bill Self was pleased with how his team performed, but knows there is much to improve as conference play approaches.

With only eight unbeaten teams left in college basketball, the field is beginning to level out across the nation. Upsets are taking place left and right, showing the change taking place between the old days of a handful of programs dominating the sport.
