New offense has Trott back to the future

Tight end Tommy Trott was one of Alabama's most prolific pass catchers during his high school career. In his final two seasons at Montgomery's Trinity High School, he racked up an impressive 109 catches for 2,184 yards and 30 touchdowns.

The sophomore hasn't come close to matching those numbers at Auburn. He got off to a solid start as a redshirt freshman in 2006, catching 10 passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns.

Those numbers fell off the map this season with only three receptions for 31 yards and no scores.

But with the hire of offensive coordinator Tony Franklin, Trott's production is poised to make another turn, this time for the better.
