Woods to provide WVU with 'game-breaking' threat

MORGANTOWN-West Virginia received a commitment Sunday from a targeted player, but perhaps not one it thought it would get this early..

D.J. Woods, a second-team All-Ohio wide receiver for Russ Jacques' Strongsville (Ohio) High School football program, told Mountaineer head coach Rich Rodriguez he was going to be a Mountaineer after a whirlwind week when his family at first thought it might visit Penn State, then changed plans to come for an official stop here.

Rodriguez was convinced from the Woods' visit on junior day this summer that D.J., who runs a sub 4.5 40-yard-dash, could become the break-away threat he wants for his program at the X receiving position. The Woods decided over the weekend that their son would wear Gold and Blue come June.
