Martin preparing his team for Old Spice

The Kansas State Wildcats depart Tuesday evening for Orlando, Fla., as they prepare to play in the Old Spice Classic, an eight-team bracketed tournament to be held at The Milk House on the Disney World property. First up for Coach Frank Martin's Wildcats is an 8 p.m. game Thanksgiving game with George Mason, a team that made a miraculous run to the Final Four two seasons ago.

No. 20 K-State will play either 19th-ranked Villanova or Central Florida in the second round. The other half of the bracket consists of South Carolina, Penn State, North Carolina State and Rider.

Martin spoke with the media via teleconference on Tuesday. Here are some of his comments. More of Martin's thoughts will appear in GoPowercat's preview of the Old Spice Classic appearing Wednesday on the site.

Talk about George Mason's run two years ago in the NCAA Tournament.
"It's all what seed you get and what draw you get because it's the game is all match-ups. They lined up and beat some good teams to get there and the only way to do that is to have good enough players to get there.

"When you're at a school like that, you rarely lose players early to the NBA, so you recruit them together and they group together. By the time they are seniors, they have built a very good bond together and they become a beck of a team that is hard to beat. That's what they have going this year."
