Pike LB Martin would like to join his cousin at IU

Indiana has reached into the ranks of Pike High School to recruit players each of the past two years, with Dennis Ziegler committing last winter and Greg Middleton coming in with IU's 2006 class. And with the newfound success the Red Devils have been experiencing, the Hoosiers would be wise to continue the relationship. Under the direction of first-year head coach Derek Moyers, Pike has put together a 14-0 record and will face off against Carmel in the state championship game Saturday evening.

Out of that group there is one Red Devil who stands a good chance of becoming the third Pike alumnus in three years to wear the Cream and Crimson. Robert Martin, a 6-2, 230-pound linebacker, emerged as a Division I recruit after a strong senior year, during which he was one of the top players on a defense that allowed opponents 10.3 points per game for much of the season.

The Hoosiers have had a leg-up in his recruitment because his cousin currently plays for IU.
