Red Storm tip season against St. Francis
Wednesday night begins the 100th season for St. John's basketball and this year's team will be looking to make its own history.
The Red Storm welcomes St. Francis to Carnesecca Arena for the season opener and first glimpse at how much improvement the program could make this season.
With a team that doesn't have a lot of veterans, look for everyone to see some time on the floor in the opener. It will be essential for the freshman to contribute and start off on the right foot.
The Red Storm should be a team that attacks the basket with the versatility they will bring to the court this year. Look for them to get out and try and get the ball up the floor as much as possible against the Terriers.
That will have to start on the defensive end with Tomas Jasiulionis, Anthony Mason Jr. and Justin Burrell controlling the boards.
If those three can do that, getting the ball up the floor shouldn't be a problem for Eugene Lawrence and freshman Malik Boothe.
