Can Kennedy contribute right away?

It wouldn't be wise to overlook freshman forward D.J. Kennedy though. The Schenley (Pa) native is someone who can bring a different style of play to the table.
"When you watch D.J., the biggest thing that catches you off guard is that he's left handed," Red Storm coach Norm Roberts said. "A left handed wing guy is hard to find and we're glad to have him here at St.John's."
"To finally be here on this college stage is something that I'm excited about," Kennedy said. "To have the chance to play college basketball is the best feeling in the world."
Kennedy has seen the difference in play from the high school ranks to the college game though, and is having to adjust accordingly.
"When I got here I saw that the guys here were real good," he said. "In high school, guys weren't as strong as they are on the college level and that has been the biggest adjustment. The moves I was able to make in high school are a little tougher to make in practice, but I enjoy the challenge."
