UA overcomes slow start in exhibition win

After a slow start to both the first and second halves, the Arizona Wildcats displayed spurts of good basketball on their way to a 96-73 victory over Team Georgia on Thursday night.

Freshman forward Jamelle Horne put up an impressive stat line in his first look at a starting position. Horne finished with 16 points, nine boards, a block and a steal.

He also made good decisions on the offensive end as he shot the ball well (7-11 FG) and took high percentage shots. Horne often cut towards the basket as he benefited from his teammates driving to the hole and drawing the defense towards them.

The freshman brings a much-needed amount of athleticism to the starting lineup that will definitely help the rebounding situation. On the break, he is a weapon that the Wildcat point guards will use as he loves to live above the rim.

Like the entire team as a whole, Chase Budinger started off slow as he missed the first two free throws of the game. He then became aggressive as his shot was not falling and attacked the rim consistently.
