News and Notes: Murray ready for more as QB

With the Baylor Bears coming to town this Saturday the Sooners are expected to have an easy time on their way to their ninth win of the 2007 season. But Baylor has been a pesky opponent for the Sooners after the past several years.

Things won't be easy for the Sooners on the defensive line as OU isn't expected to play the Big 12's sack leader in Auston English this Saturday.

English went down with a hairline fracture during the Texas A&M game but after several days have passed, Sooner coaches are encouraged with his progress since the injury.

"He said just personally, he feels it's already a ton better from yesterday morning," said Bob Stoops earlier this week. "The fact that he doesn't have a sprain around it is real encouraging."

The Sooner staff has been bolstered by the fact that Rocky Calmus had the very same injury several years ago but still managed to finish out the season playing with the fracture.
