Miles bursts onto scene

Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood running back Kenneth Miles waited patiently for his turn as his team's starting tailback, having played behind a talented senior up until this year. Miles has responded with an amazing 1,527 yards and 17 touchdowns through seven games, including 10 scoring jaunts of 80 yards or more.

Teams are starting to take notice.

"Central Florida offered me, and South Carolina, Clemson and Southern Miss are talking like they may offer, too," the 5-foot-10.5, 200-pound Miles said. "Those are the main big schools that I've heard from so far."

Miles, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds, visited South Carolina last weekend and came away thoroughly impressed with the Gamecock program.
