As Monday's practice neared its conclusion, the players spent the final minutes participating in agility drills. That's a drastic departure from the normal schedule with practice usually starting with agility drills and finishing with 11-on-11 and goal-line drills. But with the Seminole defense struggling down the stretch in games, the coaching staff decided to shake up practice routine in hopes of reinforcing the need to close out games.
"I think it was a great adjustment by the coaches," sophomore defensive end Everette Brown said. "We are going to do them all week after practice, Monday through Wednesday. It will definitely be a chance and I think it will help us in the fourth quarter of games.
"We get out here and finish up practice with 11-on-11 and one-minute drill and guys know that once that final whistle goes off at the end of practice that everything is done. You can get in the mindset of just trying to finish practice and then it gets in a game with two minutes left with you up by seven and you are like 'let's just try to finish the game' and then you lose."
