Big game for DeVree
Senior tight end Tyson DeVree had a big game for the Buffaloes on Saturday, leading the team with seven receptions for 90 yards. He also scored on a 27-yard pass from Cody Hawkins in the third quarter. "For one, he's healthy," CU head coach Dan Hawkins said when asked why DeVree came up big against the Jayhawks. "We obviously know that he can catch the football, and in some of the coverages they did, we felt he had a good chance against their guys." DeVree missed action earlier this season with concussion problems.
Cody Hawkins nearing two school records
Redshirt freshman quarterback Cody Hawkins has completed a touchdown pass in eight straight games, which is one shy of the school record. Koy Detmer completed a touchdown pass in nine straight games in 1996. But Hawkins is approaching another, less enviable mark. He has thrown 14 interceptions, which is just two short of John Hessler's school record of 16 which was set in 1997.
