Self Excited For Season To Begin

The changing of the leaves signifies the beginning of fall, which in turn marks the beginning of college basketball. For the first time since losing to UCLA in last years Elite Eight, Bill Self addressed the media during KU's media day session on Friday afternoon. There is a great deal of excitement surrounding this year's team and several questions that remain unanswered in regards to the health of Brandon Rush. Jayhawk Slant is here to provide you with an inside look from media day.

It was a relatively smooth off-season for Self and the Jayhawks. KU's head coach spent time with friends and family and, most importantly, took time away from the game he's grown to love and is so passionate about.

Having spent the last month on the road conducting in-home visits and entertaining recruits, Self was back at the office on Friday for KU's media day.

Expectations in Lawrence are always high, and this year is no different, but most of the talk early on centered around the health of star junior Brandon Rushand Late Night in the Phog.
