Ute recruiting outlook: Defense

Yesterday we took a look at how recruiting is shaping up on the offensive side of the ball. Today, we'll examine the defense:

Defensive Line
Needs: Three
Commits: Sealver Siliga
Transfers/Grayshirts/Missionaries: Isley Filiaga
Targets: David Kruger, Joey Faifili, Bubba Tuinei

Sealver Siliga was a huge pickup for the Utes, and should be a nice addition to the defensive line. Transfer Isley Filiaga will also bring some needed depth to the defensive tackle position. The Utes have a good shot at landing three star defensive end David Kruger, whose brother is having a star-making season on the hill. One interesting development is the possible addition of JUCO recruits Joey Faifili and Bubba Tuinei. As many Ute fans remember, both Faifili and Tuinei originally committed to play for Utah out of high school but neither qualified academically. Both would need to graduate from their respective junior colleges in order to qualify and join the Utes, but it is within the realm of possibility.
