Tigers send a message with big hits

The 41-6 final score of Missouri's win over Nebraska shocked a lot of people who follow college football. But for those who watched the game, perhaps the signs were there as early as Nebraska's first offensive series.

"Willy Mo hit Lucky so hard," said Tony Temple. "Me and Grooms were on the sideline saying, 'He's not so lucky today.'"

Marlon Lucky took a swing pass to the left on the Huskers' second play from scrimmage. After a gain of two yards, he was leveled by Tiger safety William Moore.

Moore was not the only Tiger bringing the lumber on Saturday. Missouri had resounding hits from Pig Brown and Andrew Gachkar as well. Freshman linebacker Luke Lambert won the team's big hit award for the week, handed out after film study.

"When I seen Willy Mo get that big hit on him, I was like, that's my partner in crime getting a big hit, I'm gonna try to match him," Brown said. "Nothing feels better."
