Bruins give Irish first win

The unthinkable happened. UCLA found a way to lose a game to hapless and winless Notre Dame. UCLA's defense played well and deserved better. The offense performed horribly. The offensive side of the ball had nine penalties and seven turnovers. As good as UCLA's defense was, the Bruin offense was its polar opposite.

Halloween came early for the Bruins as this game was a house of horrors. There were even fans covering their eyes and for good reason.

The Bruins gave the Irish plenty of treats.

Notre Dame's offense had three scoring drives that had a grand total of 24 yards. The first was a whopping minus seven yards on four plays that resulted in a Brandon Walker 26 yard field goal.

This score was set up on a Ben Olson fumble that was forced by Irish safety Tom Zbikowskiand the ball up ended up at UCLA one yard line.

Bruce Davis backed up his brash talk this week with an outstanding game. He sacked the Irish freshman quarterback Jimmy Clausen for a seven yard loss holding the Irish to three points.
