Monday is here once again and for Mississippi State that means more questions concerning this week's starting quarterback. Josh Riddell is to have season ending knee surgery to repair his torn ACL later this week and that leaves the duties to a couple of Bulldog freshmen, Wesley Carroll and Chris Relf.
Carroll has seen precious little playing time against Tulane, Auburn, Gardner-Webb and South Carolina, but this week will be different because he is "the guy" as he was named the starter today by Coach Croom.
"I have to take advantage of this time and mature," said Carroll after today's practice. "I have to keep everyone behind me
keep their confidence in me. But we don't have a problem with that right now, we just keep getting closer each week."
As for the difference in being the only healthy quarterback with playing experience, Carroll realizes he has to be aware of his surroundings but not let that get in the way of leading the team.
