Coaches quiet as Big Friday looms

MORGANTOWN-West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez said Monday he will point little at South Florida's 24-19 victory over his team last November as he moves ahead to the Bulls on a short week. The game is 8 p.m. Friday at Raymond James Stadium (MSN, ESPN2) where the Mountaineers will face their fifth straight near sell-out.

"Maybe it will be mentioned a little. I'm not a big guy to harp on revenge factor. If it helps your guys get focused during the week, that's fine. Once ball kicked off is in the past. It's what's in the now," he mentioned on his Big East Teleconference briefing.

The reason Rich will say little is because he needs not to. Certainly eight starters return from an offense that shot itself in the cleats on the Mountaineer Field turf in 2006. Minutes after vanquishing East Carolina Saturday at the same place, all the 7th-year head coach had to say was.

"Who's next?"

Everybody in the Milan Puskar Stadium locker room had the answer.

USF defensive coordinator Wally Burnham's Bulls took care of Steve Slaton (18 carries, 43 yards) and most of the rest of the WVU run game as a one-legged Pat White tried to make it a game.
