Hawgs turn focus to Wildcats
Arkansas will play host to an undefeated Kentucky team on Saturday after a disappointing 41-38 road loss at the hands of Alabama.
Arkansas coach Houston Nutt has faced some of Kentucky's best teams in the schedule rotation, and this may be the best bunch so far.
"They're off to a great start, and probably the best Kentucky team we'll have faced since we've been here," Nutt said. "They're putting up big numbers on offense, defense is getting stops, they're playing very well as a team, and we have to have great preparation this week."
To help slow down Kentucky, a change had to be made at cornerback. Sophomore Jerell Norton struggled mightily against Alabama, and while coaches still have faith in him, the plan now is to bring him along slower. He will see more nickle and dime situations, and starting free safety Michael Grant will not play corner.
"Wherever I've got to go to help the team is what I'll do," Grant said. "I played corner when I first got here, so it's really not that big of an adjustemnent. I know what to expect already.
"I was excited to play cornerback because it's more just going out there and playing whereas free safety I more reading, so it's more reacting. But now it's just go out there and play ball."
