Visiting the Red State

This Saturday, The Men of Troy will visit Lincoln (Neb.). For one Trojan, it's a visit long overdue.

Born and raised in Minnesota, USC defensive line coach David Watson lived in the shadow of Big Red. A highly recruited defensive lineman out of Jefferson High School, he watched the Huskers win three national championship in the 90s. However, Watson was more than just a fan of Nebraska football.

While in high school, Watson became friends with former USC offensive coordinator and Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin. Attending the same high school together, Watson found refuge with the Kiffins when recruiting became a distraction.
