Rivals100 RB talks visit to Athens

One of the talented prospects in Athens this weekend was four-star Rivals100 running back Dontavious Jackson. Jackson is high on Georgia's chart when talking backs and he was shown a lot of interest Saturday. He talked to the coaches, met some UGA commitments, got a feel for the atmosphere and then saw the Dawgs fall to the South Carolina Gamecocks.

"The loss meant nothing to me," said Jackson. "I know Georgia, I know what they are about and that meant nothing to me. It was a tough game, both teams came to play and South Carolina just came on top. That is football."

Football is big in Athens the fans don't like to lose, but Jackson liked how the crowd supported the Dawgs for four quarters.

"They were loud, they were intense and they were with them the entire night. It was crazy out there. I couldn't even hear anything at times. The atmosphere was great and Georgia gets a lot of support from their fans."

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back actually thought about playing in front of those fans before the game began.

"I was down there on the sideline before the game and I just envisioned myself playing there in that stadium for Georgia," he said. "You see all the players warming up, you see the fans getting into the stadium and you just try to see how you think you would fit in there."

Jackson thinks he could fit in pretty good.

"Georgia is still very high on my list. I like them a lot. I like the coaches, the fans, the environment and I like the players there. It was an awesome visit for me."
