Up close with freshman tight end Ryan Hill

Over the course of fall camp, HuskersIllustrated.com will go up close with each of the newcomers in Nebraska's class of 2007.

Today we caught up with former Rivals.com three-star tight end Ryan Hill, who says he's up to 245 pounds, to get his early thoughts and perspectives on fall camp. Hill, who is originally from Arvada, Colorado, says that he grew up rooting for Nebraska and talks about his memories of watching the Huskers take on Colorado. He also talks about what he's learned so far and his baseball career in high school.

What has been the biggest adjustment since arriving in Lincoln and being at practice?

"Probably just trying to get adjusted - guys are a lot bigger than they are in high school. Then just the motivation and how coach keeps us going with the tempo of practice and everything. That's a big key with the practice here. My practice, was not as fast as this and it's a little bit different."

What do you bring to the table at the tight end position?

"My speed and my hands. I've got a lot of the older guys helping me through my plays which is helping me come along and I think I'm picking it up pretty well. As they keep helping me, I'm going to keep on getting better and better."

Do you see yourself being a factor this year?

"I'm not really sure what the mix of everything is right now. We're just getting in and playing right now. Right now, I'm learning by all the other guys with the playbook and everything."
