Camp coverage: Week two review

The Missouri Tigers are now through two full weeks of camp. Mizzou will hold three open practices this week before going into full preparation for the season-opener against Illinois. PowerMizzou.com has everything you need to know as the opener approaches.

Here are our awards from week two:

Best Offensive Player

We have our first repeat winner of camp. Although Martin Rucker had a very good week and Jeremy Maclin really caught our eye, there just hasn't been a player as good as Danario Alexander. If he is half as good during the season as he has been during camp, he is going to enter next year as an all-Big 12 selection. Yes, he's been that good.

Best Defensive Player

This one was tougher. The defense did not look as good in this scrimmage as it did in the first. The guy I'm going with is a guy who a week ago, I wondered if it might not be best to redshirt him considering the depth at his position. But suddenly Del Howard has worked his way on to the first-team nickel defense and there is no doubt he will play and play plenty.
