DSA Audio: MB on Dixon

With fall camp just days away, Oregon Head Coach Mike Bellotti has a lot on his mind. He sat down this week to discuss some of the top issues and in this installment of the interview the focus is on the defensive line and Dennis Dixon's baseball experience.

With health comes depth, and the roster on the defensive line is strong when the whole group is able to go. Rotating in players more at wide receiver is a new tenet that has been implementing the last two years, and the same concept would help most other units including the defense. Here is the roster of guys who will get the most playing time this season:

Defensive Ends

88 Bair, Brandon 6-7 250 RFr. St. Anthony, Idaho (South Fremont HS)
56 Filipe, Victor 6-2 282 Sr. Salt Lake City, Utah (Highland HS)
49 Reed, Nick 6-2 255 Jr. Trabuco Canyon, Calif. (Mission Viejo HS)
39 Tukuafu, Will 6-3 279 So. Salt Lake City, Utah (Scottsdale CC) (East HS)

Defensive Tackles

90 Faaeteete, David 6-2 310 Sr. Medford, Ore. (North Medford HS)
99 Gibbs, Jeremy 6-3 290 Sr. Stillwater, Okla. (NE Oklahoma A&M) (Stillwater HS)
91 Harris, Ra'shon 6-5 321 Jr. Pittsburgh, Calif. (Pittsburgh HS)
97 Linehan, Cole 6-4 304 Jr. Banks, Ore. (Banks HS)
43 Speed, Michael 6-4 258 Jr. Los Angeles, Calif. (University HS)

The other main topic of this conversation was Dennis Dixon and his decision to play baseball this summer. Much has been made in some segments of the press about the Coach's opinion, and this discussion helps clarify his position.
