'Basketball Joneses' give Reebok a 'go'

PHILADELPHIA--When their game against one another was done on Sunday, the "Jones boys" embraced then playfully punched each other on the shoulder.

Friends again, the pair will finish out their time on separate teams here at the Reebok University Top 150 camp and then re-join the Westchester Hawks AAU team as it attends national tournaments in the coming weeks.

The two New Yorkers would like to continue playing together as their college careers transpire. Both will graduate in 2008. Both could commit when the NCAA's contact period begins again. Both could sign in November.

Whether they will or not is open to question, both said here that they were still planning on making official visits to West Virginia.

Kevin Jones stands 6-foot-8 and weighs about 215. He hails from Mt. Vernon, the same hometown as former WVU guard Lowes Moore. Moore runs the Boys and Girls Club in the city, the place where Kevin Jones took his earliest dribbles.

Mookie Jones comes in at 6-6 and weighs about a-buck-ninety. He comes from Peekskill.

Kevin has been offered by Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis and Pitt. Mookie shows a list that includes DePaul, Providence and Syracuse.

Seton Hall, St. John's and WVU have offered both.
