Miami DB emerges with big offers

At the end of last week, Miami (Fla.) Krop cornerback Travis Howard went from under-the-radar sleeper to legitimate BCS Conference-level recruit.

The 6-foot, 175-pounder received scholarship offers from multiple high-profile Division I-A programs, including two of the three traditional "big three" Florida programs.

"In the last three days I have gotten five (verbal) offers," Howard said. "They said they sent them in the mail on Monday and they should be arriving at some point this week."

Miami (Fla.), Florida State and Florida offered Howard, along with Central Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee. Auburn and Wisconsin also have indicated that they will be offering this week.
