Jackets offer Pennsylvania safety
Georgia Tech always makes a big recruiting push in Pennsylvania and this year is no different as quite a few Keystone State prospects have received offers. Mike Shanahan, who plays at North Huntingdon's Norwin High School outside of Pittsburgh, is one of the latest to get word of a Jacket offer.
Shanahan (6-5, 205) is being recruited by Georgia Tech as a safety, but other schools, such as West Virginia, prefer him at wide receiver.
"Georgia Tech has told my high school coach that they were going to offer me," Shanahan said. "I've talked to them a couple times, but I didn't really expect it to be that quick. I really started talking to them over the last month. It was really unexpected."
