Charest talks Illini

Plenty of excitement surrounds current Illini quarterback Juice Williams, but even before completing his first full year of college, coaches at Illinois know he won't be around forever. Athlete/quarterback Jack Ramsey from Chicago Simeon committed to the Illini during their annual spring game, but look for another signal caller in the signing day class of 2008.

One of the top quarterbacks on the recruiting board hails from Matthews(NC) Butler High School. Last season, 6-foot-3, 195-pound standout Jacob Charest led his team to a 12-3 season that ended in the state semi-finals.

Due in large part to playing a large role for such a successful program, led four major college programs to extend offers to Charest early. He has offers from Cal, Illnois, Louisville and Oregon. N.C. State rounds out his top five.
