Spring Wrap-Up

No question about it. Mike Riley's offensive scheme is tough to grasp. This much is evident after watching OSU quarterbacks Sean Canfield and Lyle Moevao go through
the motions this spring.


Simply put, they were maddeningly inconsistent. One practice they could be
right on the money, and then be way off the mark their next time out. The spring
game was a perfect example of this. For every good throw, there was a pass that
was overthrown or forced into coverage.


Beaver Nation has seen quarterbacks struggle to pick up Riley's system before.
There was Derek Anderson in 2003, followed by Matt Moore in 2005.
And the results haven't been pretty at times. After all, who can forget the
Beavers' disastrous 5-6 campaign in 2005?
