Questions still surround basketball Tigers

According to some of the early recruiting rankings, the LSU men's basketball team class is one of the best in the country.

There are six signees, the most heralded being 6-foot-10 forward Anthony Randolph from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas.

The Tigers signed two other players taller than 6-7 - Quintin Thornton from Odessa (Tex.) College and Garrett Green from Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Cal.

LSU signed one wing player - 6-7 D.J. Wright from Toronto Academy Prep School. These four players inked with the Tigers last fall.

The two spring signees are backcourt players - 6-4 Marcus Thornton from Tara High School in Baton Rouge by way of Kilgore (Tex.) Junior College and 6-1 Bo Spencer from Glen Oaks High School in Baton Rouge.

Coach John Brady has only had four large signing classes - at least five players - during his tenure with the Tigers. The previous three had below average results. That trend needs to change if the 2007-08 season is going to be a good one.
