A&M signees react to Gillispie move to UK

You can't blame fans for dreaming.

As the Billy Gillispie era begins at the University of Kentucky, the Big Blue Nation can't wait to see the new coach's first big recruit. And as if it wasn't enough that Kentucky pilfered Texas A&M's star coach, many fans have their radars locked on the guys Gillispie planned to coach for the Aggies.

Two of A&M's top recruits, 5-foot-10 point guard B.J. Holmes and 7-foot center DeAndre Jordan, were courted by UK early in the process, leading some to speculate that they might follow Gillispie to Lexington.

It sounds greedy, but with the departure of Randolph Morris and three senior front court players, fans find it difficult not to wish upon a five-star prospect such as Jordan. Filling both the head coaching vacancy and adding top-rated recruits in one motion seems too good to be true, and according to Holmes, it probably is.
