Practice report: Tune up for scrimmage
Missouri held practice number six, the final tuneup before Satday's scrimmage. We will have some information on the format of the scrimmage after practice, but here are our observations from Thursday's workout:
*The offense has not been what you would term a well-oiled machine. The quarterbacks have been a little off the last couple of days, there have been a few problems with center-quarterback exchanges, etc. Today, William Franklin had a couple of early drops in practice. Overall, there were at least five or six good passes dropped by receivers.
*That said, you don't need to worry about the offense. It will be just fine.
*No new injuries to report. Monte Wyrick practiced red-free for the first time. Brock Christopher is still out.
*Marcus Woods might be the best spring football player I've seen at Missouri. Once again this spring, he really looks good. On one play during running drills, he sprinted around the right corner and just outran everyone on the defense. Now his challenge will be to stay healthy and carry that over to the regular season.
*Dominic Grooms got some reps with the No. 2 offense today. Like I've said before, I really expect the backup battle to go for some time.
