DeJuan Blair prepares for state title run

It has been a big year for DeJuan Blair and Schenley basketball. Blair is the star center for Schenley High School, which borders the Pitt campus. Schenley is currently ranked the No. 12 ranked basketball team in the country, and is high on its way to a return trip to the PIAA AAAA state championship game again.

The Spartans captured another City League title this past year, on its way to a 27-3 record, and a perfect 16-0 City League record. In addition to wins over local teams, the Spartans have beaten DeMatha Catholic (Md.), Booker T. Washington (Va.) and Ft Myers (Fla.). The Spartans made it all the way to the state championship game a year ago, losing a heartbreaker to Lower Merion by two.

This past week, things picked up for Blair, and for his future school, Pitt.
