Video: Georgia athlete talks recruiting

Wilcox County High School in Rochelle (Ga.) is home to Alfonzo Dennard. Dennard plays both sides of the ball for Head Coach Mark Ledford, but corner will likely be his home on the next level. Many schools have shown major interest in Dennard early in the process. We traveled down to visit Dennard recently and here is an exclusive video interview.

Prospect: Alonzo Dennard

High School: Wilcox County (Rochelle, Ga.)

Class: 2008

Position: Defensive Back (Corner)

Vitals: 5-10, 185-pounds, 4.4

Offers: Clemson

Favorites: Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, and Georgia Tech

The Skinny: Dennard is an athlete that could play slot, running back, or corner on the next level. Defense may be where he could excel the most, but he could do all quite well. He is strong, he is quick, and he can make plays. He loves to compete, be I the middle of the action, and to step up in the big games.

We traveled down to visit Dennard at Wilcox County High School recently and he took the time to talk with us about recruiting. He talks about his first offer, his top schools, his plans for the summer, and more inside this exclusive video interview.

If you were not able to view the video interview with Dennard, then here are some of his quotes.

"I am 5-10, 185-pounds, and I run a 4.4 in the forty."

"I lined up at quarterback, receiver, running back, tight end, cornerback, safety, linebacker, and defensive end on some plays."

"I had 45-catches for 840-yards and 28-carries for 250-yards rushing yards. I had 55-tackles and 5-interceptions."

"Clemson, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia Tech [are recruiting me right now]."

"Clemson texted me and I called him. The coach said he wanted to recruit me and give me my first offer."
